The OTTER study is a randomized control trial led by Drs. Philip Fisher (PI), Elliot Berkman (Co-I) and Nicole Giuliani (Co-I) at the University of Oregon. This study recruits parents in treatment and recovery for opioid-use disorder who have young children. OTTER aims to (1) adapt FIND for parents in treatment and recovery; (2) quantify main effects of FIND on intervention targets (changes in responsive caregiving) and related parent and child outcomes; and (3) use fMRI to identify theory-driven process-level neural mechanisms underlying FIND effects, determine moderations of intervention impact including child and caregiver variables, and examine intervention fidelity and dosage. Participants will be randomly assigned to receive FIND coaching or an active control coaching program.
