Kathryn (Katie) Jankowski, MS is a developmental psychology doctoral student at the University of Oregon, mentored by Dr. Jennifer Pfeifer. Katie is broadly interested in the neurodevelopmental correlates of social cognition: self-processing, self-conscious emotions, Theory of Mind, and empathy in neurotypical development and autism spectrum disorders (ASD). Her dissertation research investigates social and emotional processing of self and others in adolescents with ASD using functional magnetic resonance imaging, salivary hormone analysis, and neuropsychological measures. This research is generously supported by an Autism Speaks Weatherstone Predoctoral Fellowship. Katie has received previous funding through a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship and a Japanese Society for the Promotion of Science International Research Fellowship. Katie is also very interested in autism intervention targeting social and emotional development, and she enjoys volunteering with an autism early intervention program.
